Kaufland seller fees
Short answer: Selling on Kaufland has two direct costs: a monthly subscription of €39.95 excluding VAT (Basic) or €59.95 (Plus, with a backlink and €30 advertising credit) and a sales commission of 4 to 16% depending on category and country. There are no listing fees, the monthly fee covers all nine markets together, and commission applies only to actual sales.

Item | Amount |
|---|---|
Basic subscription | €39.95 per month excl. VAT |
Plus subscription | €59.95 per month — backlink to your own shop plus €30 advertising credit |
Sales commission | 4 to 16% by category and country |
Listing fees | none, unlimited offers |
Three properties that shape your calculation:
One monthly fee for nine markets. Selling in Germany, France and the Netherlands still means paying the subscription once.
Commission on the gross sale price including shipping, plus VAT. Don't calculate on net revenue.
No commission on returns or cancellations. Only real sales count — which matters considerably in return-heavy categories.
Category percentages sit in Kaufland commission.
VAT and OSS registrations for the markets you sell in.
Shipping or fulfilment, depending on your route — see Kaufland fulfilment options.
Content and translation per market. Nine countries means nine language versions if you want to serve them all.
Advertising, if you want to buy visibility.
What's notably absent from that list: on selected sales channels Kaufland handles the majority of statutory extended producer responsibility. If you're used to arranging EPR per country yourself, a fixed cost and time burden leaves your budget entirely. [CHECK] which channels and obligations that covers.
A product at €29.95 including 20% VAT, self-shipped, 12% category commission:
Item | Amount |
|---|---|
Sale price incl. VAT | €29.95 |
Less VAT (20%) | €4.99 |
Net revenue | €24.96 |
Less commission (12% of €29.95) | €3.59 |
Less shipping | €4.25 |
Less cost of goods | €8.00 |
Contribution margin per unit sold | €9.12 |
At 100 sales a month the subscription costs €0.40 per unit. At 10 sales it's €4.00 — nearly half your margin gone to fixed cost. The subscription isn't really a fee question, it's a volume question.
Calculating on the lowest commission rate. The range is 4 to 16%. Look up your own category, in your own market.
Using the wrong commission base. It's the gross price including shipping, not your net revenue.
Not allocating the subscription. At low volume it's your largest cost per unit sold.

Do I pay a subscription per market? No. The monthly fee covers all Kaufland markets together.
Do I pay commission on returns? No. Commission applies to actual sales only, not to returns or cancellations.
Are there listing fees? No, and the number of offers is unlimited.
How do I cancel? In writing, four weeks before the end of the contract term. Otherwise it renews automatically for six months.
