Short answer: Kaufland sales commission runs from 4 to 16%, depending on your category and on the country you sell in. Germany, Austria, Czechia and Slovakia typically sit between 7 and 16%; Poland has more favourable rates of roughly 4 to 12%. Commission is calculated on the gross sale price including shipping costs, plus VAT.
This is where sellers miscalculate. The base is the total amount the customer pays: your sale price including VAT and including any shipping charges.
On a €29.95 product with €4.95 shipping at 12% commission, you're charged on €34.90, not €29.95. That's €0.59 per sale in this example — close to €600 across a thousand sales a year.
The same product can carry a different rate in two markets. [CHECK] Germany, Austria, Czechia and Slovakia generally fall in the 7 to 16% band; Poland has more favourable rates of roughly 4 to 12%.
Practical consequence: when you expand from one account, your margin differs per market even at an identical price. Calculate per market, not once for everything.
Three costs that exist on other channels and not here:
No listing fees. The number of offers is unlimited.
No commission on returns or cancellations. Only real sales count. On channels where a refund withholds part of the commission or a fixed fee, that's a genuine difference — particularly in categories with return rates above 20%.
No extra monthly fee per market. The subscription covers all nine markets together.
Sellers fixate on the percentage while shipping, returns handling and advertising together often weigh more. For a typical product the ratio looks roughly like this:
Cost | Share of sale price |
|---|---|
Sales commission | 4–16% |
Shipping or fulfilment | 10–18% |
Advertising | variable |
Returns and shrinkage | 2–8% |
You can't negotiate commission. You can steer the rest. Full calculation in Kaufland seller fees.
